Past Events
Here are a examples of past events we’ve held to give new media producers the inside access on the politics & community surrounding the Second Amendment & the shooting sports:
Inside Access – With special passes, you can enjoy a great view of all of the NRA’s top speakers & workshops. By working with NRA staff, we try to get you great stories for your online publications – whether it’s in the political arena, shooting sports, or all about the great outdoors.
Drinkin’ with David Kopel – As a contributing blogger at The Volokh Conspiracy and the Research Director at the Independence Institute, David Kopel is an incredible conversationalist – whether you want to talk about the state of Second Amendment litigation or interesting new media trends. His latest book is Aiming for Liberty: The Past, Present, And Future of Freedom and Self-Defense.
Ham & Eggs with Dave Hardy – This has been great way to close down a long weekend by having brunch with Of Arms & the Law blogger and lawyer David Hardy. He made the documentary “In Search of the Second Amendment” and co-authored the book Michael Moore Is a Big Fat Stupid White Man.
Chat with Scott Bach – As the leader of the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs, Scott Bach knows what it is like to fight uphill battles. Whether it’s battling for a bear hunt against animal rights extremists, fighting back against legislators trying to ban guns, or motivating activists in an unfriendly political environment, Bach has experience that makes for great conversations for anyone looking to advance their cause.
NRA-ILA Meet & Greet – Before things get crazy, we’ve traditionally had a casual event with NRA-ILA staff so publishers can have an opportunity to chat with the insiders who work on the big issues every day.
Hunting Policy – The Nationwide Political Fights – Whether its wolves in the West or battling blue laws in the East, the political debates for hunters are surprisingly frequent and ferocious with groups like HSUS and PETA. Those who don’t normally cover hunting issues have been surprised at what they learn at these private sessions with hunting policy staff.
Industry Insights – Happy hours and sit downs with industry leaders give producers the chance to get the full story on new products & trends in guns and gear.
Media, Politics, & Sports – What Don’t State Associations Do? – This was a chance to find out what state-based organizations are doing at home, how new media plays a role in their efforts, and how you can get the inside scoop on moving the Second Amendment forward locally.
