Second Amendment Blog Bash

FAQ

If you have any additional questions, please email organizer -at- 2ABlogBash -dot- com.

Is the event limited only to bloggers?

No. New media publishers are welcome to cover the event. Podcasters, Facebook group administrators, forum administrators are invited. Do you publish using a different technology? Let us know!

Readers are also welcome to join us at select events to meet some of their favorite bloggers and other personalities.

Do I have to cover mostly guns to attend?

No. You don’t need to focus on gun issues all the time to attend. Any new media publisher who supports our Second Amendment rights is welcome to attend and learn more about what’s going on in the gun/outdoor industry, in politics, and in the pro-gun community.

You are welcome to bring guests, as the NRA meeting is family friendly affair. Even those not interested in guns will find plenty to do in the area.

Do I need to be an NRA member to attend the NRA events?

Readers will need to sign up prior to the event or join as an Associate member at the door. Publishers are not required to in order to cover the event. However, if you would like to join or renew, please click here.

On a personal note, I will say that regardless of your attitude toward the organization, a donation would be in order if you do participate and enjoy the event – even the exhibition hall. Having known the kind of work that goes into these events, it has cost the organization quite a bit of money and staff time to entertain you. Consider the cost of a nice dinner and movie as a reasonable starting point for a donation to any division of the organization.

Some events may require tickets to attend. More information about these events will be posted at a later date.

Do I need to be an NRA member to attend the non-NRA events?

No. However, we may participate in events sponsored by the NRA. In that case, see above.

I’m going to confirm my attendance when you open it! Why/Where do I sign up for specific events when they open?

For any Blog Bash highlighted event, your Bash Confirmation signs you up.

Readers: You will need to register with NRA for your passes to the floor and all events.

Bloggers: For the NRA events, registration requirements vary according to price and division. As credentialed media, Blog Bash bloggers will have access to key events and speakers as media. However, we realize that we’re a mix of media and grassroots in this issue, so here are some key highlights you may also be interested in participating in that require registration with NRA:

  • In order to attend the Grassroots Workshop, you need to register with the Grassroots Division. It’s free, but they have a breakfast to order and materials to ship, hence the need for a headcount.
  • If you are a practicing attorney interested in taking the Firearms Law Seminar for CLE credits, see here.
  • The NRA Annual Banquet, now known as the Celebration of American Values Banquet, requires a ticket in order to eat dinner. You will need to register with the NRA in order to buy tickets. Please look for directions in early 2009 on how to buy tickets for the Bash tickets.
  • The NRA Foundation Friends of NRA Dinner, Sportsmen’s Luncheon, and Sportsmen’s Prayer Breakfast, should you choose to attend, each require a purchased ticket. You will need to register with NRA and purchase your tickets online.
