Transportation in Phoenix

We’ve received a few questions from folks flying in about transportation to and from the airport.  So far, every Bash event with a scheduled location is downtown – within 4-6 blocks of the Holiday Inn Express and Super8.  If there are any plans for off site events, we will do our best to organize transportation options.

Taxis & Shuttles
Estimated rates for a taxi from the airport to the hotels are about $20.  Please feel free to use the “Quick Notes” section of the website to organize shared rides.  According to the airport’s website, there are no fees for additional passengers or bags when taking a taxi.  If there are several people arriving around the same time, SuperShuttle offers a reserved van for $55 carrying up to 7 passengers.  They also offer a sedan service for up to 4 passengers for $40.

The National Rifle Association has discount rental agreements with both Hertz and Avis. For more information, visit or call:

In addition, Phoenix does have a light rail service that can take you from the airport to the downtown area.  Hours, fares, and maps can be found here.

  1. RE: SuperShuttle Phoenix

In an effort to encourage their online booking reservations SuperShuttle is offering a discount if you book online. It reduces your fare to/from the airport and can be used on an unlimited basis through all of 2009 for travel at all of their US airport locations/ INCLUDING PHOENIX.
Depending on your Frequent Flier program you can also get credited for up to double mileage. (although South West does not participate)
