Para had announced we wouldn’t have easy access to the Internet in our rooms so I had planned to share my cellphone data connection via a wireless router or directly from my 802.11 radio on my laptop. I spent several hours yesterday trying to make that happen. I can share my connection that comes in via ethernet just fine but I get an error (without sufficient debugging details) when I try to share out my cellphone connection.
If people were planning on getting access via me it is likely they are going to be disappointed next weekend and should make other plans.

I doubt many were, if any. I think Caleb also has plans for his own coverage, and the others may try to share what limited internet access Blackwater does have.
I have also asked if they are willing to let us bring a wireless router to spread the connection, but I haven’t heard back. I can understand why Blackwater wouldn’t want to do that, but I pointed out to Para that bloggers aren’t really that useful without the internet. Sebastian and I are willing to bring an extra router with us if they will let us. We’ll have wifi at our hotel, but I thought you guys could figure it out if they would let you use it.

I still plan on bringing my wireless router and had also thought of using it for sharing the Internet connection they do have. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Never mind about the Internet access concerns. Para just sent email saying the hotel rooms have Wifi now.
